THE RONDOUT ROWING CLUB ANNOUNCES
The First Annual Midnight Run – New Year’s Eve 2017
Members, friends and family of members and anybody who loves a challenge, Join us on New Year’s Eve, December 31st, 2016 at 10:00pm at the Kingston Visitor’s Center, 20 Broadway. From there we will walk up Broadway to Chestnut Street and then break into a run up Broadway to Wall Street. On Wall Street between John and Front Streets there are heated tents which have music, pop-up shops with food and beverages. The main stage at Wall and Front Streets features musical performances followed by the Kingston Midnight Ball Drop and fireworks sponsored by Basch & Keegan. This is a festive and memorable way to burn off all the calories consumed during the holidays.
Wear your club logo and layers, if you have them. Bring water and maybe confetti….
You may prefer to do a brisk walk and that is OK as long as you are not alone. The distance is around 3.8 miles. Check out New Year’s Eve Facebook page.
NOTE: If the temperatures for that evening should be forecast for less than 30 degrees or rain is predicted the run is automatically canceled (but we will also post the cancellation here). The City of Kingston offers a shuttle ($1.50 EXACT CHANGE ONLY) on New Year’s Eve so we can take that to return to the Visitor Center. Important Links page.
