Just a few reminders regarding the three staging environments where the Learn-to-Row happens:
1) at the YMCA Workout clothing for the erg room, swim suits for the swim test. If you did not pay online, please bring a check made out to the Rondout Rowing Club and give it to your coach. Please also view the Concept2 basic rowing technique video, if you can http://www.concept2.com/indoor-rowers/training/technique-videos
2) West Point, Saturday, June 13th Everyone should bring a photo-id acceptable to the US Government (driver’s license, etc.), some water, comfortable workout clothing for the ergs, and a snack (you will be there for 3+ hours) We will ALL meet at the Hudson River Maritime Museum barn between 7:30am and 7:45am to carpool, get directions, etc.to the West Point boathouse. (Here are our directions: https://rondoutrowingclub.org/west-point-boathouse-directions/). If you don’t know the route, please MAKE SURE you follow (and are being watched by) someone who does— it can be a tricky route. ALSO DRIVERS, beware that the West Point police like to give out tickets. ALL, including parents and guardians (there are several this year), will also have to sign waivers just to enter the building. Wait for the Rondout Rowing Club coaches and senior volunteers before entering the building.
3) June 20/21st at Hudson River Maritime Museum on the Rondout Creek Bring water and snack, wear clothing that can get wet, socks (water shoes are best but unnecessary depending on the boat you get into, all the boats have footstretchers fitted in an odd assortment of shoe sizes, so in some cases you can fit your whole water shoe in the footstretcher, in others you can fit your bare feet . For your safety, wear socks in the boats)
