SAFETY message from Tim
The proper functioning of equipment is critical to the safe operation of a boat. Each person is responsible for the boat and their own seat equipment. Check for proper functioning before leaving the dock and ask if you are not sure if the following is correct:
The nuts on the rigging are tight.
The position of your foot stretchers is correct.
The smoothness of your slide is acceptable.
The heel ties on your shoes are tied and in good condition.
The forward end of the slide is blunt and will not gouge your calves.
Your clothing cannot become tangled in your seat slides or oar handles.
Your oarlock height is correct.
You have proper safety devices on board.
REMEMBER: SAFETY IS EVERYONE’S RESPONSIBILITY
